About The Position

This role is responsible for working with students and potential students to educate, enroll, and maintain financial aid programs. Collaborates with internal peers and departments to execute financial aid programs and generates reports and written communication for the department.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify routine issues and escalate non-standard problems using established procedures in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to review basic information and follow policies, procedures, and guidelines when completing assigned tasks
  • Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectively with faculty and staff to support campus and departmental operations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year's working experience in a Financial Aid office
  • Bilingual in English and French, Spanish, Vietnamese, or other foreign language in both written and verbal communications

Responsibilities

  • Assures compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations and laws regarding student financial aid
  • Assists in providing direction, guidance, knowledge, and accurate information regarding financial aid, including but not limited to: TCC policies and regulations of state and federal agencies
  • Manages specialized financial aid programs (reviews, processes, notifies, or reconciles)
  • Creates reports, business correspondence, forms, and presentations
  • Conducts staff training
  • Regularly interacts with faculty, campus, and district administrators, technical staff, as well as other colleges
  • Assists the department with its outreach and awareness efforts, including conducting financial aid presentations, for both on and off-campus locations
  • Assist students with financial aid applications and processes
  • Evaluates student eligibility for financial aid awards, including scholarships, grants, work-study, and loans
  • Enters and retrieves student information in the student management system and Federal student aid databases in connection with the responsibilities of serving financial aid students
  • Collaborates with essential departments to ensure student preparedness and success
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
  • Performs Other Related Tasks as Required
