About The Position

DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash focused on exploring robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics. This role supports the sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of critical components for robotics, autonomy, and field systems. The Inventory Procurement Associate will ensure inventory accuracy, manage supplier relationships, and scale procurement and supply chain workflows. This position involves close collaboration with engineering, sourcing, and operations teams to ensure timely component delivery from prototyping through production and deployment. It is a hands-on, operationally focused role in a fast-paced environment, encompassing procurement, inventory management, and warehouse operations. The role reports to the Supply Chain team within the Autonomy Operations organization.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, production, or hardware operations (preferably within robotics, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing environments)
Experience with ERP and procurement systems (Coupa, SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and ideally MRP systems for production
Familiarity with hardware development cycles, BOMs, and supported engineering or R&D teams
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation and tracking skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, vendors, and requests in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable handling everything from purchase order tracking to hands-on warehouse inventory management
Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
Able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a hands-on lab/warehouse environment

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting autonomy, robotics, UAVs, aerospace, or regulated hardware programs
Familiarity with PLM systems (Arena, Agile) and BOM management
Knowledge of international logistics, duties, tariffs, and shipping compliance
Experience with low-volume, high-complexity parts procurement
Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for workflow and documentation tracking
Knowledge of lean inventory practices and supply chain optimization
Forklift certification or demonstrated warehouse safety training

Responsibilities

Source, negotiate, and purchase parts, tools, and materials for R&D, production, and field operations
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery
Track and manage inventory across labs, warehouses, and deployment sites
Receive, label, store, and issue materials used in R&D, production, and field builds
Plan and kit materials for prototype, NPI, and production builds
Submit and monitor purchase requests for a wide range of hardware components (mechanical, electrical, embedded systems, PCBAs, cables, packaging, consumables, etc.)
Maintain organized records of POs, receipts, invoices, and part usage
Conduct regular cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies
Ensure proper storage practices for sensitive and high-value components
Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs, tariffs, and export regulations
Support onboarding of new suppliers and ensure compliance with documentation requirements
Help maintain procurement system workflows (Coupa, SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and resolve basic system-related issues
Identify opportunities to streamline procurement, inventory, and warehouse processes
Maintain and upkeep warehouse storage areas, implementing best practices in material handling, storage, and documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to forecast material needs and prevent shortages
