About The Position

The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing industrial/automotive aftermarket customers order requirements in two primary areas: Inventory (Supply) Management & Demand Management.

Requirements

Previous purchasing or inventory management experience
Good oral and written communication skills
Good business planning and organizational skills
Good mathematical skills
Good analytical skills
PC and MS Office knowledge
Experience with ERP systems and specifically Oracle preferred
Experience with Oracle MRP Inventory and Purchasing Modules

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred
APICS Certification preferred

Responsibilities

Customer demand/forecast analysis (shared with Sales/Demand Planning team)
SMS (Slow Moving Stock) elimination & prevention
Delivery verification and follow up with suppliers
Expedite shipments with suppliers
Process ESA’s (Express Shipment Authorization) as required
Timely, accurate communication/follow-up with suppliers & internal customers
Maintain material order records, files
Manage phase in/out of part numbers
Process required internal documentation.
Assist sales with customer backorder fulfillment – use of correct item number, warehouse etc.
Review daily, weekly and monthly reports related to material requirements planning
Analyze, review and determine material requirements and change orders required
Process orders and changes for material that is required so support customer orders and approved forecasts
Release work-orders for assemblies/packing changes/disassembly as required
Coordinate material rework with all relevant departments, initiate domestic RFQ spreadsheet and facilitate Oracle system preparations.
Maintain inventory to budgeted levels in all relevant warehouse locations
Advising availability/lead-time for customer requests for quotation for stocked items
Complete costs and GPM analyses as required
