About The Position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Inventory Management Support at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment’s Orange, VA site. This site is a center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs. The role involves determining routing and packing material for shipment, considering factors like item nature, handling method, size, urgency, carrier selection, and cost. It also includes clerical duties related to shipping, packaging, receiving to purchase orders and Ariba receipts, returns to vendor, delivery of materials and equipment, and processing of tooling. The position assists the Receiving Clerk in maintaining receipt and shipping documentation, conducts cycle counts, and supports other logistics areas. It requires performing record keeping duties and inventories, storing, processing stock pulls/requisitions, material transfers, and conforming to record-keeping standards. The individual must safely operate all material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant Inventory Control/Material Handling experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years prior related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an aerospace industry environment is highly desired.
  • Experience in material management and inventory reconciliation strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience performing all material control related activities: receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting materials.
  • Computer proficiency with Oracle (Inventory Control or Material Workbench) or other inventory/warehouse software, bar coding and scanning is desired.
  • Knowledge of material control functions and procedures.
  • Experience in explosives handling, packaging and shipping is desired.
  • Experience driving forklifts or other material handling equipment.
  • Experience using common MS software (Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Good communication and team building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing the following activities and creating transaction records for receipts, issues, return to stock, work in process transfers, transfers between contracts, cycle counts, audit trails, and all material moves.
  • Responsible for safely loading, transporting, delivering, unloading and proper compatible storage of all different types of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Responsible for accuracy of data for receipts, checking packing lists against incoming freight, noting discrepancies, working with Purchasing to resolve problems, distribution of associated paperwork, filing and maintaining records of transactions.
  • Makes deliveries of packages/materials to the appropriate manufacturing or storage areas.
  • Monitors conditions of stored materials regarding identification, housekeeping, safety/compatibility, and temperature control requirements.
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance and safety checks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
