About The Position

The Inventory & Logistics Specialist plays a key role in supporting the production of advanced industrial laser systems in a high-mix, low-volume environment by ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, tracked, processed, and delivered where needed. This position is responsible for inventory control, production kitting, shipping and receiving activities, material movement, and cleanroom material processing. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and operational excellence. This role provides an opportunity to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment supporting the production of advanced industrial laser systems.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail is mandatory with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Experience using computer systems in a business or manufacturing environment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently follow established procedures and work instructions.
  • Experience in inventory control, shipping & receiving, material handling, or production support within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, and production kitting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and consistently where inventory, documentation, and transaction errors can impact production schedules and customer deliveries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials as required and perform duties involving standing, walking, and material handling throughout the workday.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs frequently throughout the day and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to routinely perform work in cleanroom and controlled-environment settings while wearing required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory transactions, material movement, and inventory control is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using online shipping platforms (UPS, FedEx, DHL, or similar) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting engineering or production teams.
  • Experience with cycle count programs and inventory discrepancy investigations.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Kanban or pull-based inventory replenishment systems.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and kit materials for production orders.
  • Transfer materials between warehouses, stockrooms, and production areas, including replenishment and Kanban activities.
  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy through timely and accurate inventory transactions, cycle counting, discrepancy investigation, and adherence to established inventory control procedures.
  • Assist inventory and production teams with material movement and transactional activities.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders, confirm shipping documentation accuracy, inspect materials for obvious shipping damage, and distribute materials to designated inventory or production locations.
  • Process domestic and international outbound shipments, including preparing shipping documentation, packaging finished goods according to procedures, and scheduling carrier pickups using online shipping platforms (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
  • Perform frequent cleaning and preparation of parts and materials using Ultra-Violet light, ionization air guns, and approved cleaning solvents in accordance with established procedures for cleanroom processing.
  • Transfer cleaned materials into an ISO-certified cleanroom and distribute them to designated locations.
  • Perform assigned tasks while wearing required cleanroom personal protective equipment (cleanroom gowns, nitrile gloves, hair nets, and beard guards).
  • Assist with material processing activities, including washing and baking components.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory, warehouse, and shipping processes.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse and work areas.
  • Provide cross-functional support to inventory, shipping, receiving, and production teams as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
