Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • 1 Year of Inventory Control Experience

Responsibilities

  • Accepts and stocks all food and produce orders upon delivery in their respective areas of preparation for patient, cafeteria, and catering services.
  • Meets time requirements of distribution of food and supplies.
  • Maintains clean and safe storage areas.
  • Works cooperatively with all other employees.
  • Assists with special functions and food preparation as needed.
  • Responsible for issuing all food products to employee when they report to storage area.
  • Responsible for checking off items and signing delivery invoices upon receipt.
  • Assist with printing requisition sheets that departments enter through electronic inventory system or pre-established pull sheets.
  • Build carts for pickup or delivery of requisition sheets for all areas of the hospital.
  • Responsible for proper utilization of storage space and rotation of all food items and supplements.
  • Responsible for dating and labeling all stock upon receipt.
  • Keeps all walk-in coolers, freezers, and storage areas clean.
  • Proper storage and rotation of dairy products, fresh produce and vegetables, meats and seafood (and thawing these items as necessary for the cycle menu).
  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
