About The Position

Our Switching and Fusing location in Leeds, AL is looking for an Inventory Control Supervisor to grow with us as we grow! The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records for the Switching & Fusing Business Unit. This role manages cycle counters, monitors stock levels, conducts audits, enforces inventory policies, and collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure efficient inventory management.

Requirements

  • Inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of material flow, logistics, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a make to order environment is helpful.
  • Sufficient knowledge in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree, preferred
  • APICS certification is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain current inventory levels.
  • Manage cycle counters and ensure daily counts are performed.
  • Prepare cycle count assignments each day.
  • Work with cross functional teams to execute yearly physical inventory.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure inventory integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis.
  • Manage SAP system inventory to ensure data accuracy and make updates as necessary.
  • Investigate day to day plant issues relating to inventory accuracy and material movements.
  • Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management, focusing on key metrics and issue areas.
  • Develop and implement improved inventory management procedures and systems.
  • Stay current on industry best practices to enhance inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate obsolete inventory processes with cross functional teams and submit adjustment request to Materials Manager for approval.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to material storage and handling.
  • Maintain a clean, well organized inventory area to prevent accidents and product damage.
  • Directly manage all cycle counters including workload balancing, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Materials Manager related to the Inventory Control Specialist role and management of the cycle counters.
