About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor (1st Shift) will report to the Inventory Control Assistant Manager. This position supervises IC teams across multiple facilities on the 1st shift to ensure all email communication, de-picks, recalls, and other IC department processes are followed. The role assists warehouse operations as required, communicates transitional information from the night shift to the day shift, and supervises the daily activities of the inventory control staff. The supervisor ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained, is responsible for evaluating inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs, and manages any assigned staff including employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions. This role is also responsible for the supervision of all computer entry work and all paperwork flow.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of previous warehouse supervisory/managerial experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read and write emails
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones
  • Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30 db. at 500 to 2000 Hz range
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances

  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse and TMW software preferred)
  • Forklift certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and leading a team of Leads, material handlers, admin clerks, and inventory clerks
  • Delegating work and responsibilities to subordinates
  • Overseeing all inventory accounts and records across multi-site locations for all 1st shift IC staff
  • Completing necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time
  • Compiling inventory reports for review and analysis
  • Ensuring the timely packaging, receiving, procurement, shipping, and invoicing of stock and material
  • Evaluating and scheduling shifts for inventory personnel at current facility and assisting 1st shift supervisors with any scheduling needs
  • Performing and supervising timely inventory audits
  • Ensuring compliance to inventory processes and procedures, as well as contractual obligations
  • Analyzing stock inventory and researching issues per client requests
