About The Position

Responsible for controlling the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Control functions, which include performing cycle counts of the warehouse inventory, conducting investigations of suspected out-of-balance items, and making corrections to the inventory based upon that research, coordinating all special processing of inventory, including return to vendor shipments, and performing other related tasks. This role works directly with clinical partners to identify and fulfill implant and tissue product needs, coordinates with Vendors regarding implant requests for surgical cases, and utilizes an RFID system for tracking implantable inventory. It also ensures compliance with FDA and Joint Commission regulations for tissue management and reviews assigned storage locations and Par Levels to optimize space and function for supply inventory management. The position involves partnering with OR Nursing and Customer Service colleagues to review and adjust product Par Levels and working closely with Perioperative Services to maintain Profile Cart accuracy.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Business preferred
  • Inventory Control/Supply Chain Management Experience 3-5 years required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organization and business administration skills.
  • Ability to supervise, control, manage, instruct, and lead others.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and should be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute a cycle count schedule in compliance with the corporate accounting objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets.
  • Investigate, identify, and reconcile cycle count discrepancies, including shortages and overages.
  • Audit the process, including paper flow errors, and identify inconsistencies that affect inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain the inventory areas by organizing and ensuring efficient material handling and storage.
  • Works directly with clinical partners to identify and fulfill implant and tissue product needs.
  • Coordinates with Vendors regarding implant requests for surgical cases, including confirmation of request, Vendor receipt, delivery of product, and stocking in assigned locations.
  • Utilizes an RFID system, including data entry, scanning, and tagging, to enable tracking of implantable inventory.
  • Ensures compliance with FDA and Joint Commission regulations on product-specific receipt, storage, and distribution requirements.
  • Access and interpret tissue records and IFUs.
  • Regularly reviews assigned storage locations and Par Levels to optimize space and function.
  • Partners with OR Nursing and Customer Service colleagues to review product Par Levels and adjust when needed.
  • Works closely with resources in Perioperative Services to maintain Profile Cart accuracy; identifies and implements updates when appropriate, coordinating efforts to ensure electronic records match physical inventory.
  • Convey product information accurately, both verbally and in writing, to the Procedural Implant Center (PIC) staff and supporting teams.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and coach members of the PIC.
  • Organize and coordinate product in-services with Vendors for staff training.
