About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Supervisor to lead and support inventory accuracy initiatives within our distribution and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for supervising cycle counting activities, monitoring inventory transactions, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and driving continuous improvement efforts to maintain world-class inventory accuracy. The Inventory Control Supervisor will oversee inventory control personnel, develop and implement inventory management processes, coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, planning, and customer service teams, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing, materials management, or distribution operations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience managing cycle count programs and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Experience supporting annual physical inventories and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, warehouse operations, and inventory management best practices.
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced computer skills including ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed.

  • Must be able to pass a physical examination to confirm ability to perform the job.
  • This position includes extensive walking, regularly stooping, bending, or kneeling, and lifting, carrying, or manipulating objects up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to perform daily responsibilities.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment while working.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of Cycle Counters and other inventory control personnel.
  • Manage and maintain the ABC cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy objectives are achieved.
  • Review and approve inventory adjustments in accordance with company policies and established authorization requirements.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy performance and develop corrective actions to address recurring inventory discrepancies.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and lead corrective action efforts to reduce inventory variances.
  • Analyze inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, scrap transactions, and inventory adjustments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain inventory control procedures, policies, and standardized work instructions.
  • Coordinate and support annual physical inventory activities, including planning, execution, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Monitor warehouse storage practices and conduct inventory audits to ensure location accuracy and inventory integrity.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Partner with Warehouse, Operations, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and Customer Service teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Prepare and communicate inventory accuracy metrics, variance analysis, and management reports.
  • Ensure proper inventory transaction processing within the ERP system.
  • Investigate inventory-related quality concerns, warranty returns, recalls, and non-conforming material transactions.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to inventory control personnel.
  • Support inventory-related projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate safety, environmental, and quality concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
