Requirements

  • 4-6 years' of warehousing experience.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance Management or Inventory Control.
  • Experience managing warehouse(s) and logistics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, co- workers and managers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License.
  • Versed in materials management, sourcing & purchasing processes, and operations management.
  • Strong Supervisory skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve technical issues.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and negotiating skills.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent, regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Materials management including material receipt, handling, transactions, storage, and creation of a safe work environment throughout warehouse and storage areas.
  • Partner with contractors and logistics to manage external warehouse inventories, transfer orders, and transportation of goods between facilities.
  • Monitor inventory levels, and work with planning and purchasing to adjust supply plans, and safety stock levels to reduce stock-outs, and over-inventory situations.
  • Support value stream initiatives to drive improvement of key performance metrics.
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage inventory and warehousing transactions.
  • Provides oversight and supervision for assigned employees and functional teams.
  • Manage cycle counts and physical inventories of value stream inventories on a regular basis, ensuring all inventory is accounted for and properly reported.
  • Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Serves as the inventory management representative on any value stream project.
  • Partner with value stream leader to create an inventory control environment to successfully meet customer needs and meet profit goals.
  • Manage documentation requirements for all production orders including accurately transacting finished goods into stock.
  • Supervise Material Handlers to supply the production floor with needed materials.
  • Position may require up to 10% travel locally to external warehouses.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives by providing clear direction, expectations, and updates on priorities and progress.
  • Provides timely ongoing performance feedback, conducts performance reviews, and supports employee development planning.
  • Fosters an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team environment while embracing Chesterton’s core values.
  • Ensures team adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Initiates and partners with HR to review and update direct reports’ job descriptions, ensuring clarity in roles, expectations, and leveling.
  • Effectively conducts sensitive employee discussions, including compensation-related conversations and disciplinary actions, with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Communicates & collaborates effectively across functions, levels and teams within the organization while supporting and driving departmental initiatives.
