About The Position

Empower AI is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to work at the Department of State within the Shipping and Receiving Facility (SRF). This role is crucial for managing assets (hardware and software) and completing deliverables to support the customer's mission of providing IT services to DoS users enterprise-wide. The current inventory comprises over 50,000 hardware units, and the specialist will be part of the team responsible for maintaining official records of hardware, software assets, and warranty information. This includes tracking, decommissioning, and recording the location of inventory distributed to customer personnel. The role involves comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset lifecycle, including software end-of-life, reconciliation, report generation, trend analysis, periodic inventory reviews, and operational compliance support.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience
• Associate's degree or equivalent
• Secret Security Clearance

• ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)

Responsibilities

• Ensure a complete and accurate inventory of all assets and licenses acquired or deployed into production environments.
• Maintain an official record of hardware and software assets and warranty information.
• Track, decommission, and record the location of inventory distributed to customer personnel.
• Perform all in-processing activities, such as opening shipments, conducting acceptance testing for COTS/GOTS items, coordinating with vendors to replace damaged items, and ensuring compliant assets are securely stored.
• Provide comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset life cycle, ensuring that software end-of-life is included.
• Conduct reconciliation activities, report generation, trend analysis, and periodic inventory reviews.
• Provide operational compliance support.
