About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory at Super Steel. This role is critical to ensuring enabling accurate MRP planning. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a disciplined process mindset, and hands-on experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of inventory control, materials, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (MIE Trak, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in contract metal fabrication, machining, welding, or similar industrial operations preferred.
• Experience with cycle counting programs and physical inventories.
• Understanding of MRP logic, BOMs, routings, and material planning concepts.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels using ERP system
• Perform routine physical counts and checks
• Assist with receiving incoming deliveries, verifying quantities, documentation, and moving to correct storage locations
• Report and fix missing counts, and bad or damaged product
• Label and store product into stocking areas
• Conduct inventory transactions when moving product to and from locations
• Contribute to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across the facility
