About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining inventory processes and levels to keep the workflow moving through work centers in the plant. This role involves coordinating with various departments and overseeing inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to meet deadlines, working within a timeframe while maintaining a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field or 3-5 years’ experience in a production inventory environment.
  • Experience with tools such as ECCCO, Oracle, Microsoft, and IFS is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of workflow and presentation of parts.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail for accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust daily, weekly, and monthly comprehensive inventory schedules to ensure meeting customer demands and shipping goals.
  • Coordinate with various departments including manufacturing, procurement, engineering and shipping.
  • Communicate with Production Scheduling when discrepancies are found to ensure proper scrap and replenishment issues are processed.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements to scheduling processes.
  • Assist branches as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient supply of raw materials and components for production while minimizing inventory and carrying costs.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory management systems to track inventory movements and maintain accurate records. This will include physical cycle counts.
  • Prepare and participate in External or Internal Audits. Such as Bank, 3rd party and ISO 9001.
  • Coordinate with vendors and procurement to reorder materials as necessary, ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance inventory control accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve overall operational performance.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in inventory management.
  • Work to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals set related to Inventory Control.
  • Practice safe work habits and follow procedures, policy and JSA (Job Safety Analysis). Focus efforts to work towards continuous improvement of product quality using our ISO 9001 Systems.
