About The Position

VP Supply Corp is one of the nation’s largest distributors of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies. We have over 350 employees with 16 locations across Western New York and Pennsylvania. For over 50 years, we have proudly served residential customers as well as contractors and municipalities across a variety of industries. Our Warehouse Team is seeking to hire an Inventory Control Specialist with 1-3 years of experience to join our Buffalo office. Requirements

  • 1 – 3 years of inventory control experience required.
  • Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Willing and able to operate Material Handling Equipment, specifically Stock Pickers.
  • Ability to receive, stock, and/or pick goods.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Microsoft office experience, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Database management experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage and communicate through email on a routine, daily basis.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple issues at the same time, without stress.
  • Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.

Nice To Haves

  • Product knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical parts highly desired.
  • Knowledge of SHIMS ERP system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage inventory.
  • Perform cycle counts ensuring all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy.
  • Investigate and resolve outbound back orders.
  • Make inventory adjustments, after checking all inbound and outbound product commitments.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Investigate, and correct discrepancies, in reported quantities and locations of all inventory.
  • Coordinate resolution of discrepancies with sales, warehouse and customers.
  • Analyze inventory concerns for remedial action, including incorrect receipts, stores, and picking.
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting customers.
  • Serve as a back-up auditor for all outbound orders.
  • Train new hires on product placement and usage.
  • Lead others in safe work practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
