About The Position

Provides inventory control oversight for plant operations and warehousing. Partners with Operations and Cost Accounting to reduce material waste. Provide direction to hourly team members when applicable. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: Reports directly to the Plant Manager. Plant Controller will provide functional guidance. Interfaces with Operations Finance regularly to ensure accurate inventory and reporting. Interfaces with Operations Managers and Superintendents. Develops or improves processes to better manage inventory movement and accuracy. Works with Training and Development on SOPs and JIBs that capture best practice for inventory management. Helps assist with 3PL warehouse management and coordinating in/out bound freight. Manage inventory including daily review of inventory records. Conduct weekly MV1, MV2, and MV3 Inventory meetings. Manage resolution of Inventory meeting action items. Lead root cause investigations on inventory problems. Manages plant cycle count program including assisting where needed. Provide oversight to plant pass-thru locations and manage resolution. Pulls, analyzes, and reports on rework data. Assists Production and Operations Finance on rework clean breaks. Supports all departments with inventory related questions, concerns, or investigations. Interfaces with various customers and supports ad hoc requests not inclusive of Weekly inventory reports supplied directly to customer management teams. Supports customer inventory audit and traces. Interfaces and supports commercialization and de-commercialization initiatives. Works with all teams and departments to reduce and mitigate all forms of SLOB. Local manager for decommercialization to include leading meetings and publishing reports. Supports all internal and external audits of inventory and related records. Supports and guides Operations Clerks and Gatekeepers and provides oversight and guidance to reduce inventory adjustments and to identify root causes for eradication. Provides functional guidance to the Operations inventory cycle counter. Provides guidance and direction to their assigned hourly team members (when applicable). Liaises with the Scheduler, Demand Planning, and Procurement Buyers as required. Evaluate the impact on raw material storage when new customers are added to the portfolio. Recommend mitigation when required. Assist in the management of cooler utilization. Assists QA with inventory traces. Assist in ensuring raw material expiration dates are accurate. Optimize raw material utilization. Assist Operations in the management of the flow of materials and supplies. Assists the Continuous Improvement Engineer by pulling and analyzing data from D365 to support CI projects. Provide back-up to Plant Scheduling Manager and Procurement Buyer. Provide back-up to Operations Finance when required to assist in batch kitting, etc. May be required to provide periodic off shift presence. Engage with Operations to reduce or eliminate causes of controllable waste (Cost of Quality) Consults with Procurement on optimum raw material attributes, i.e. unit quantity, to provide least cost use. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD AND CURRENTLY NOT ENROLLED IN HIGH SCHOOL
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience with ERP software
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership capacity with proven results desired.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field highly preferred.
  • Relevant manufacturing experience can supplement post-secondary education, one for one.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Any experience with WMS also a plus
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment desired.
