About The Position

OSW Equipment & Repair is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist. This detail-oriented role is responsible for tracking and managing raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure accurate inventory within a manufacturing environment. Collaborates with production, purchasing, and shipping teams to maintain inventory accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support efficient operations. This role is onsite Monday - Friday (7am - 3:30pm). The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures proper tracking, movement, and storage of inventory within the plant, while investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain system accuracy. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with production, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure inventory levels are balanced, and all transactions are recorded in compliance with company standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and shop leads.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve inventory discrepancies and process issues.
  • Ability to identify root causes and develop solutions for complex inventory and material flow challenges.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily cycle counts and full physical inventory as required.
  • Track raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods to ensure accuracy in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies (missing, overage, damaged stock) and report root causes.
  • Manages and maintains inventory system; creating part numbers, updating part information and bin locations.
  • Backflush materials to stock or production orders and verify correct quantities are consumed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with Purchasing/Planning to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage practices to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare and assess inventory reports for management and support audits.
  • Assist in process improvements for warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
