About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for increasing company profitability by maintaining accurate inventory levels and identifying new methods to achieve this at the facility.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment or a food or nutraceutical company.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • A strong work ethic and can-do attitude are of critical importance.
  • Candidate should be independent, detail-oriented, organized, and be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Regularly involves speaking or listening, sitting, and using hands and fingers.
  • Regularly involves going up and down stairs.
  • Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing, and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling, and/or climbing or balancing.
  • Ability to work while wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must lift and carry items weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Involves moderate physical activity through engaging in non-strenuous daily administrative activities nature.
  • Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, and observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right. At the same time, the eyes are fixed on a given point, distances and spatial relationships are judged, and the eye is adjusted to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e., office equipment, light traffic).
  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e., production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
  • May be exposed to dust, humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, fumes, and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.

Nice To Haves

  • A BA/BS in food science, computer science, engineering, or a related degree is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP would be advantageous, but is not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement methods to maintain accurate inventory levels at the facility.
  • Effectively and efficiently work with cross-functional teams, including those from purchasing, sales, production, and the warehouse.
  • Responsible for ensuring cycle counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Instruct warehouse personnel when and where to return defective or returned stock items.
  • Maintain the defective/returned stock items area in an orderly fashion.
  • Monitor defective/returned stock items in the warehouse that have not yet been processed.
  • Maintain proficiency in SAP and other technologies as required.
  • Conduct and supervise audits of facility inventory on a regular schedule.
  • Responsible for training employees in inventory control processes and cycle counting.
  • Responsible for ensuring SAP bar code scanners, printers, and computers are maintained and in working condition.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
