About The Position

Don’s Appliances is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our warehouse inventory by performing daily physical counts of stock, investigating discrepancies, and auditing inventory processes. Your work will directly impact our operational efficiency, order fulfillment accuracy, and overall supply chain health.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or inventory control role.
  • Proficiency with RF scanners and familiarity with inventory software/WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Manhattan).
  • Certified or willing to become certified to operate warehouse machinery (Forklift, Order Picker, Electric Pallet Jack).
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions) for accurate unit-of-measure conversions.
  • High level of accuracy and a sharp eye for spotting mislabeled items or incorrect placements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working at heights (when operating an order picker or using ladders).
  • Capability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory cycle counts based on a predetermined schedule or system-generated count sheets.
  • Research and reconcile inventory variances between physical counts and the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Identify patterns or systemic issues causing inventory inaccuracies (e.g., mislabeling, receiving errors, or scanning omissions) and suggest corrective actions.
  • Accurately input count data and inventory adjustments into the WMS/ERP database.
  • Ensure inventory is stored in its designated locations, properly labeled, and neatly organized to facilitate accurate tracking.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and RF scanners) to access inventory at various heights and locations.
  • Work closely with the Receiving team to resolve immediate inventory issues.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and warehouse cleanliness standards.
