About The Position

This role involves maintaining extensive agency-wide and statewide inventory, including furniture, equipment, records, and vehicles. The specialist will develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures on inventory control. Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning, coordination, and distribution of fixed assets to ODPS facilities, updating and tracking information on the automated Asset Management System, and coordinating with Distribution Services on the receipt, storage, issue, shipment, and pickup of fixed assets. The specialist will also coordinate the disposal of fixed assets with State Salvage to ensure proper procedures and policies are followed, and act as the receiving agent for supplies, materials, and equipment procured by ODPS.

Requirements

  • Option 1: 9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist
  • Option 2: 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control
  • Option 2: 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control
  • Option 2: 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment
  • Must possess and maintain Ohio driver's license or must be able to provide own transportation
  • Records Management

Responsibilities

  • Maintain extensive agency-wide & statewide inventory such as furniture, equipment, records, or vehicles
  • Develop, implement & enforce policies & procedures on inventory control
  • Assist in the planning, coordination & distribution of fixed assets to ODPS facilities
  • Update, verify, & track all information on automated Asset Management System
  • Coordinate with Distribution Services on receipt, storage, issue, shipment, & pickup of fixed assets
  • Coordinate disposal of fixed assets with State Salvage to ensure proper disposal procedures are followed & policies are enforced
  • Act as receiving agent for supplies, materials & equipment procured by ODPS
