About The Position

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two ex-Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers. We are seeking an Inventory Control individual responsible for overseeing and optimizing the management of our inventory, ensuring the availability of essential components and materials needed for the mission operations deployments of ACS products worldwide. This position will play a critical role in our mission to deliver state-of-the-art technology to the DoD.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory management and control, preferably in manufacturing, military mission operations, or defense industry setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

  • Knowledge of defense industry regulations and compliance standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure accuracy of timelines, forecasting and deliveries of components and materials.
  • Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that incoming materials meet established quality standards.
  • Identify and address quality issues promptly.
  • Generate inventory reports, including stock levels, usage, and trends.
  • Maintain documentation related to inventory processes and transactions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal security protocols for handling sensitive materials.
  • Safeguard inventory against theft, damage, and unauthorized access.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate inventory-related issues and recommendations to management.
  • Work with inventory team, purchasing team, and mission ops team members to build and stage standardized kits for operational deployment and asset support.
