Inventory Control - Material Handler I
About The Position
Responsible for operating forklifts and cherry pickers to unload materials and merchandise from incoming trucks and pick products for shipment. The role involves accurately picking, weighing, checking, and packing orders; meeting special customer requirements; maintaining warehouse and shipping supplies; assisting with inventory counts and audits; reporting stock or product issues; and keeping the warehouse clean, orderly, and safe. This position is performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse. The employee regularly stands and walks on level surfaces for prolonged periods, frequently talks and hears, handles or feels items, and reaches above shoulder height and below the waist. The employee must lift up to 20 pounds for 70% of the day and up to 65 pounds for 30% of the day.
Requirements
- Certified to operate forklifts and cherry pickers.
- Strong proficiency in English communication, including reading, writing, and verbal interactions, to comply with safety protocols and operational procedures.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of related job experience preferred.
- RF handheld experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and cherry pickers to unload incoming materials and merchandise and pick products for shipment.
- Accurately pick parts throughout the warehouse.
- Weigh product using the proper scales.
- Check part numbers and quantities with a high degree of accuracy.
- Pack orders into shipping cartons and verify that all order components are accounted for the correct customer.
- Read customer order notes and fulfill special customer requirements.
- Maintain stock of warehouse and shipping supplies.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and perform inventory audits as needed.
- Notify the Department Lead or Department Supervisor of stock shelf issues.
- Report defective materials or products, shortages, and questionable conditions to the Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
