About The Position

Hughes Supply, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking an Inventory Control Manager for their Denver, CO location. This role is responsible for fully and directly managing all aspects of inventory management in the warehouse, ensuring operations are safe, secure, efficient, and cost-effective. The manager will oversee the tracking, stocking, maintenance, and handling of merchandise, manage and hire a team of warehouse teammates, set performance expectations, and conduct regular evaluations. Responsibilities include training warehouse teammates and inventory specialists, overseeing cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, establishing procedures for monitoring vendor shipments and merchandise receipt, and meeting targets for fill rates, service levels, in-stock rates, inventory turns, and slow-moving/overstock inventory. The role also involves supervising inventory procedures for incoming and outgoing materials, staying updated on warehousing methods, and maintaining warehouse safety in compliance with company standards, OSHA, and other regulations. The Inventory Control Manager will resolve disputes, perform all job functions in accordance with safety standards, complete required training, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • 1+ year of leadership experience
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Knowledgeable of products sold at Profit Center preferred
  • Be able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of and be able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT, and other warehouse and material handling safety regulations.
  • Be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for sales and warehouse operations.
  • Be able to learn Microsoft Office Outlook to communicate via email.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Fully and directly manage all aspects of inventory management in the warehouse and ensure they are conducted in a safe, secure, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Pay close attention to detail and ensure all merchandise is properly tracked, stocked, maintained, and handled.
  • Manage and hire a team of warehouse teammates.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for teammates and conduct regular performance evaluations to assess progress and provide feedback and development.
  • Manage, schedule, and train warehouse teammates and inventory specialists to ensure safe and efficient operation of all inventory-related functions.
  • Oversee cycle counts and ensure the proper investigation and resolution of all inventory discrepancies.
  • Establish proper procedures for monitoring vendor shipments and the receipt of merchandise ensuring all inventory is accounted for and properly documented.
  • Meet or exceed targets for fill rates, service levels, in stock rates, annual inventory turns, and slow-moving/devalued/overstock inventory levels.
  • Supervise proper inventory procedures for incoming and outgoing materials. Ensure product is properly counted, verified, received, and documented in accordance with prescribed warehouse operations.
  • Keep abreast of new warehousing methods and train your assigned team on new methods.
  • Maintain the safety of warehouse operations in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA and any other applicable regulations.
  • Resolve all disputes quickly and effectively.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
