About The Position

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an Inventory Control Manager I to provide senior leadership, direction, and strategy for the Inventory Control team. This role is crucial for executing commercial and operational deliverables related to client service agreements. The manager will also be responsible for developing and progressing key customer relationships and operational partnerships to foster continuous improvement and operational excellence in inventory control management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4 years Inventory Control experience
  • 3+ years logistics industry experience
  • 3+ years management experience (unit pick environment, large company preferred)
  • 1+ years client relationship, staff mgmt & objective setting experience
  • Staff management & Objective Setting
  • Metric development and reporting across cross functional leadership
  • Knowledge of systems such as JDA, Manhattan WMS, DMPLUS, SAP, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to the audience

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership, direction, and strategy for the Inventory Control team.
  • Develop and progress key customer relationships and operational partnerships.
  • Ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time to meet customer demand and maintain service level agreements.
  • Improve overall inventory accuracy, accountability, and reporting by ensuring best practice processes and procedures are in place.
  • Minimize and mitigate risk exposure to DHL and the client by improving the focus on inventory control and its financial benefits, ensuring accurate accounting for client assets.
  • Set the strategic direction for supply chain and solution initiatives revolving around Inventory Control and Inventory Planning.
  • Develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to inventory control and the management of the client’s assets.
  • Develop new and innovative methods of analyzing data and determine which methods to apply to inventory control and management.
  • Ensure adherence to Inventory Control KPI outlined in the commercial agreement are met.
  • Monitor and report customer inventory control accuracy and shrink contractual requirements/service level agreements timely to site leadership.
  • Maximize the performance of the site inventory processes and system to ensure care, custody, and control of customer inventory, accuracy (to floor and customer book), and proper utilization of information technology.
  • Provide required documentation to customer, customer’s financial statement auditor, or appropriate regulatory auditor in support of compliance requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment for associates.
  • Manage site hourly and exempt associates.
  • Conduct associate performance reviews, individual development plans, and succession plans.
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced at appropriate levels.
  • Take an active leadership role in managing turnover to the appropriate level.
