About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Inventory Control Forklift Driver to support the Asset Protection Supervisor in maintaining workflow and count processes. This role involves operating a forklift and collaborating with the inventory control team to ensure an exceptional member shopping experience. Key responsibilities include conducting, organizing, and validating inventory counts, sorting damaged and RTV (Return to Vendor) items, reducing salvage, obtaining return authorizations from vendors, and re-wrapping sellable merchandise. The position also requires working cross-functionally within departments to complete merchandise counts and inventory control tasks, upholding club policies, procedures, and compliance with honesty and integrity. The role emphasizes delivering service excellence, resolving member concerns, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for members and team members, while embracing inclusion, diversity, collaboration, and respect. Team members are expected to work together to achieve goals, move with speed and agility, innovate and adapt, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. A daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate) and GOLD Club Standards (Grand opening look, stocked items, executed promotional plans, visible accurate signage, clean and organized) is essential. Understanding how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department and seeing the connection between consistent execution and business impact is also important.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.

  • At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Working with speed and accuracy to facilitate organized processes.
  • Accurately processing damaged or defective merchandise by following appropriate salvage, donation, vendor return, reverse logistic, hazardous waste and destroy procedures.
  • Obtaining return authorizations from vendors, processing vendor chargebacks, and packaging and shipping merchandise returns based on vendor return policies.
  • Working proactively with department teams to track, plan, coordinate and execute department inventory counts control county cycles as prescribed by Home Office within assigned deadlines.
  • Following count processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining the correct stock / inventory status for all damaged, defective, and returned merchandise.
  • Assessing breakage logs associated with leaking, spoiled and broken merchandise and processing merchandise out of inventory.
  • Processing freezer and dairy damages.
  • Understanding the company’s community / donation programs and administering salvage and donation merchandise orders.
  • Conducting daily club safety walks, escalating findings to Asset Control Inventory Supervisor.
  • Supporting Inventory Control Count Team in executing count processing as assigned.
  • Reviewing daily return reports, processing merchandise recalls, and processing tire and battery returns.
  • Ensuring that the AFS and release dates are followed.
  • Ensuring that the books are stocked, and that the execution of book returns are completed in partnership with the RICS.
  • Processing the 945/948/950’s in partnership with the AP Specialist.
  • Re-wrapping sellable merchandise using appropriate seal and shrink-wrap packaging guidelines.
  • Ensuring the department is organized and clean.
  • Following established safety, filing organization, and lock-up standards.
  • Completing and maintaining necessary training and annual safety re-certifications to effectively operate a forklift.
  • Maintaining all club policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
