About The Position

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through daily inventory control activities, including cycle counting, verification of inventory balances, reconciliation of discrepancies, and auditing customer product inventory throughout the warehouse. This position ensures inventory integrity by comparing physical inventory to system records and investigating variances through analysis of receiving, storage, and shipping activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) months of related inventory, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.

  • Lift, carry, and move materials consistent with warehouse operations.
  • Lift 80 pounds repetitively

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts and inventory audits as directed.
  • Verify inventory balances by comparing physical counts to system records.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies through analysis of receiving, shipping, and inventory transaction history.
  • Conduct spot audits throughout the warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Verify receiving and put-away locations and quantities.
  • Locate and research products identified as missing or lost in storage.
  • Relocate inventory and update system locations as required.
  • Identify, document, and report inventory shortages, overages, and damages in accordance with company policies.
  • Recommend disposition of excess, obsolete, defective, or damaged inventory.
  • Receive, count, inspect, and record inventory manually or through warehouse management systems.
  • Store inventory in an organized, safe, and accessible manner within designated warehouse locations.
  • Pack, unpack, move, and distribute materials, products, and supplies as needed.
  • Apply identification labels, tags, stamps, or other marking methods to inventory.
  • Examine stock for defects, wear, or damage and report findings to management.
  • Dispose of damaged or defective products or coordinate returns to vendors.
  • Assist in determining appropriate storage methods and stock locations based on product characteristics, inventory turnover, and facility capabilities.
  • Locate damaged pallets and coordinate repair or replacement as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, reports, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports regarding inventory levels, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and product usage.
  • Review purchase orders, contracts, requisitions, and inventory records to evaluate supply requirements.
  • Assist with stock procurement activities and inventory replenishment documentation.
  • Determine and communicate backorder release priorities based on inventory availability.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Utilize elevated inventory counting methods when required and in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, and storage locations.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training programs.
  • Issue and distribute materials, components, and supplies to internal and external customers.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to warehouse personnel regarding inventory-related matters.
  • Support inventory, warehouse, and operational functions as business needs require.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Operations, and vendors regarding inventory availability and procurement needs.
  • Assemble, adjust, or repair inventory items when necessary to prepare them for use.
  • Assist with operational activities outside of inventory control when business demands require additional support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
