About The Position

A highly reputable company is looking for an Inventory Analyst to join their team! This role includes a large range of duties including but not limited to record, analyze, and report inventory throughput and volume reconciliation for multiple pipelines and terminals. This includes monitoring tank and pipeline throughput and inventories, system receipts, deliveries, transfers, and other adjustments, along with daily, monthly, and year-to-date gains/losses. The role involves identifying, analyzing, investigating, and reporting to management any variances or accounting discrepancies that may affect company finances. Initiating revisions to applicable departmental policies and procedures is also expected. The position requires extensive interfacing with internal and external contacts, including management, operations, engineering, and business development, as well as customer/shipper personnel. Providing direction and training to others in the department is part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and V-lookups.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or Accounting

Responsibilities

  • Verify and report on all product movements and obtain daily inventory documentation.
  • Analyze and enter movements into the inventory system as needed, and complete and distribute daily/weekly/monthly reports on time.
  • Analyze and balance inventory, review gain/loss, investigate variances, and ensure product movement accuracy and accountability.
  • Work with various internal and external customers regarding inventory reconciliation.
  • Analyze documentation accuracy, product movement, tank balances, and SCADA.
  • Identify and correct undocumented product movements and utilize the inventory system to respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain inventory system by updating system files to reflect contract changes, tank usage changes, and other required changes.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly variance reports and appropriate invoicing backup to accounting.
  • Complete monthly or multiple monthly closes for assets and provide timely information to accounting and customers.
  • Prepare monthly variance reports, review with management, and distribute reports.
  • Respond to requests for product throughput analysis.
  • Calculate and report all fuel additive data where applicable, report discrepancies, monitor and maintain inventory of additives, and order additives as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit all required weekly, monthly, and annual regulatory and internal reports, distributing them to customers as needed.
  • Prepare required documentation for internal and external audit agencies.
  • Provide any required billing information to Accounts Payable.
  • Assist and backfill for other positions within the department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
