About The Position

Penske Logistics is looking for an Inventory Clerk to join their warehouse operation in Salt Lake City. This role is ideal for detail-oriented, safety-conscious individuals with a positive attitude who aim to succeed in a warehouse setting. Under the guidance of the inventory control manager, the employee will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring that the WMS (Warehouse Management System) reflects the physical inventory on hand. This involves working in a non-climate-controlled environment and using various inventory control systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of general office experience required
  • 1 year of customer service experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn WMS and various internal applications
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting.
  • Able and willing to operate various material handling equipment; occasionally moving product in warehouse
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
  • Willingness to complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Inventory Control / Cycle Counting Experience strongly preferred
  • Warehouse / Distribution Center experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure system count matches physical inventory by resolving discrepancies at location and pallet level, looking for missing product, updating WMS, and researching/documenting root causes.
  • Ensure proper rotation of product by analyzing reports, physically moving product as required, and researching/documenting root causes.
  • Accurately receive inventory by working with checkers, auditing inbound receipts, and accurately inducting x-dock into inventory.
  • Perform data setup and validation by accurately inputting data into WMS and other applications, and auditing existing data for inaccuracies.
  • Manage unsalable inventory to resolution by documenting product recalls, segregating recalled product, working with procurement on expired or held products, accurately recording dispositions (dump/donate), and ensuring appropriate signage.
  • Assist with process analysis and documentation by documenting and training inventory procedures, assisting with daily/weekly reports, and aiding in the development and implementation of special projects.
  • All other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
