About The Position

The Inventory Clerk position involves material handling, production posting, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation. This role requires understanding shipping and receiving, all aspects of inventory movement and consumption, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify the root cause of inventory discrepancies. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of one year of related materials or inventory experience.
  • Good numerical analysis and accurate counting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and enterprise resource planning systems required.
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials.
  • Able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes/carts over 30 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, ISO quality procedures, and bill of materials.
  • Working knowledge of cycle counting, FIFO, Kan Ban, supplier quality, and inventory management preferred.
  • Have analytical mindset to work through data and determine gaps and opportunities.
  • Have comfort with communication across all levels.
  • Use system tools to ensure reporting of issues and tracking progress to improve (HeyDo).
  • Participate in A3, RIE, and EOS initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily cycle counts, annual physical inventory, and resolve variances.
  • Investigate cycle count variances to determine root causes and implement corrective actions with team members.
  • Complete production and scrap postings daily.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials.
  • Create work instructions for new processes.
  • Follow 5S and organization standards.
  • Understand bill of materials and their interaction with inventory demands.
  • Train, share knowledge, cross-train, and understand the flow of materials.
  • Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the company’s facilities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and work overtime as required.
