The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and contract specifications. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks in various areas of the facility, including restrooms, public areas, offices, and specialized centers. The Custodian must adhere to uniform dress code and hygiene standards, manage cleaning supplies and equipment, and be able to move and lift heavy items as needed. This position requires regular attendance, compliance with all building and security requirements, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision. The role also includes secondary functions such as assisting with inventory, floor maintenance, and event setup. This position is designated as essential personnel, meaning employees may be required to remain at their work location or report to work during institutional emergencies.
