About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly Inventory Clerk Team Member for the 2nd shift. This position starts at $22.50 per hour plus a $1 shift differential. The role involves accurate and timely performance of inventory and general accounting functions, processing daily production paperwork, maintaining inventory tracking spreadsheets, and creating/posting inventory assembly entries to the general ledger. The Inventory Clerk will also assist with the receipt of inventory items, review payroll records, apply customer payments, and reconcile cash receipts. The position requires researching and resolving accounting, documentation, and production yield/inventory discrepancies, maintaining company policies, and ensuring effective communication with personnel and management. The role also includes general accounting duties, maintaining confidentiality, and completing special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets
  • Two or more years of previous spreadsheet experience
  • Knowledge of Company policies regarding inventory and purchasing
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperatively with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Additional bookkeeping courses preferred
  • At least two years of previous accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely performance of inventory/general accounting functions.
  • Processing daily production paperwork to track production yields.
  • Maintaining inventory tracking spreadsheets.
  • Creating and posting inventory assembly entries to the general ledger to relieve inventory and build items for billing.
  • Assisting with the receipt of inventory items into the accounting software.
  • Reviewing payroll records for accuracy and submitting weekly hourly payroll.
  • Applying customer payments and reconciling cash receipts to deposit amounts before posting.
  • Performing accounting duties in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Researching and resolving production yield problems.
  • Researching and resolving inventory discrepancies regarding production.
  • Maintaining and projecting the company’s professional reputation.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with company personnel and management.
  • Assisting Accounting Department personnel as needed.
  • Keeping management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Reporting transactions that are outside established purchasing policies to the Controller.
  • Maintaining regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or to correct transactions.
  • Ensuring that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Performing general accounting duties as needed.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Completing special projects as assigned.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
