About The Position

An inventory associate assists an inventory manager in overseeing and maintaining the plant’s supply of products and equipment. An inventory associate job description involves keeping track of all products and supplies, ensuring that stock is organized, and assisting in the unloading and processing deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Counts inventory for official records
  • Issues material into system from requisition forms
  • Maintains logs of all products and supplies
  • Checks actual inventory against computerized records
  • Reports any discrepancies in inventory records to the manager
  • Receives deliveries with use of Fork Truck, Pallet Jack, or by hand.
  • Loads materials with use of Fork Truck, Pallet Jack, or by hand.
  • Assists unloading from delivery truck with use of Fork Truck, Pallet Jack, or by hand.
  • Organizes inventory in stores area with use of Fork Truck, Pallet Jack, or by hand.
  • Restock merchandise as needed with use of Fork Truck, Pallet Jack, or by hand.
  • Files all delivery and inventory receipts
  • Uses inventory software to keep track of orders, returns, and supply
  • Writes up inventory reports detailing any overstock or missing items
  • Presents inventory reports at meetings in absence of the manager and/or lead as needed
  • Ensure the area is clean and well organized
  • Moves and restructures of the organization of products to make space for new inventory
  • Assists in cleaning and organizing at shift end
  • Pulls any defective product and reports appropriately
  • Packs up items for return and creates shipping labels
  • Facilitate intercompany transfers
  • Submits out of stock to manager for escalation
  • Reviews shipping and receiving documents for accuracy
  • Assists material handlers in locating items
  • Assists manager in devising new ways to reduce shrink and maintain inventory control
  • Covers other areas of inventory when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
