About The Position

The Inventory and Storage Volunteer plays a critical role in supporting the operations the Spokane County Democrats by managing the inventory, organization, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies. The role ensures resources are readily available, properly maintained, and efficiently organized to support organizational activities, events, and campaigns.

Requirements

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 30–40 pounds) and handle physical aspects of storage work.
  • Vehicle or trailer that can transport multiple boxes at one time.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Basic computer skills (spreadsheet management preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with political campaigns or nonprofit operations is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory list of all materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Regularly audit inventory at both office and storage unit locations.
  • Track incoming and outgoing items, including campaign materials, literature, event supplies and equipment, and office materials and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain clean, accessible, and efficient storage spaces at the office and off-site unit.
  • Label and categorize materials for easy access by leadership and volunteers.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for improved storage methods as needed.
  • Coordinate with other volunteers the movement of materials and supplies to/from events, fundraisers, and campaign activities.
  • Alert office staff when supplies are low and assist in restocking as authorized.
  • Occasionally pick up or receive supply deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials distributed to campaigns, committees, and events.
  • Work with office and event staff to forecast supply needs, especially during election cycles.
