About The Position

As an Inventory & Shipping Specialist II, you will serve as a critical link between Rinchem's customers, warehouse operations, transportation teams, and customer support functions. You will analyze inventory and shipment data across customer and company systems, ensure inventory accuracy, coordinate transportation activities, and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, SAP transactions, transportation logistics, and regulatory compliance. In this fast-paced environment, you will oversee inventory transactions, support domestic and international shipments, ensure DOT compliance, manage customer communications, and assist in the efficient movement of hazardous and non-hazardous materials throughout the supply chain. You may also serve as a load planner for priority customer deliveries and act as a mentor for junior team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5-7 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, transportation, import/export operations, or supply chain coordination.
  • 1 or more years of successful experience as an Inventory & Shipping Specialist or equivalent logistics role.
  • Experience utilizing SAP for inventory, shipping, billing, and operational transactions.
  • Experience working within a DOT-regulated transportation, logistics, warehousing, or hazardous materials environment.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping and transportation compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, Chem-Star WMS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and hazardous materials transportation compliance.
  • Knowledge of IATA, IMDG, and other transportation compliance standards.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain regulatory certifications including IATA and IMDG training.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a Rinchem Warehouse Technician.
  • Experience with NAVIS and port operations.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience coordinating import/export activities and international shipments.
  • Prior experience supporting chemical, hazardous materials, or regulated supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for key customers by providing accurate, timely, and professional communication.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding inventory status, shipments, delivery schedules, and operational concerns.
  • Resolve customer issues and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform inventory receipt entries in Chem-Star WMS, SAP, and customer systems of record.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and transaction histories across multiple systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Process specialized inventory transactions including damage, hold, disposition, and non-conformance activities.
  • Perform quality checks on outbound shipments to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support daily inbound and outbound shipping operations.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules and loading activities.
  • Manage booking confirmations to ensure timely deliveries and loading schedules.
  • Understand and support import and export operations while coordinating with third-party logistics providers and agents.
  • Assist with chassis logistics, port operations, and transportation planning activities.
  • Support load planning for priority customer deliveries.
  • Generate and review shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Manifests, Export documentation, IATA documentation, IMDG documentation, and Customer-specific shipping paperwork.
  • Calculate truck weights and load capacities to ensure safe and compliant transportation.
  • Utilize SAP and Chem-Star WMS to process inventory, shipping, billing, and operational transactions.
  • Maintain data integrity across customer and company systems.
  • Support customer and third-party warehouse management systems as required.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements related to inventory control and transaction accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations governing the transportation and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Review shipping documentation for compliance with federal, state, customer, and company requirements.
  • Support regulatory audits, inspections, and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain accurate records supporting DOT, hazardous materials, and quality compliance requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with IATA, IMDG, and other applicable transportation regulations.
  • Lead and mentor junior Inventory & Shipping Specialists.
  • Train team members on inventory, shipping, SAP, customer service, and compliance procedures.
  • Support employee development and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Warehouse Technician role and provide operational support when needed.
  • Lead invoice coding, order creation, and transaction entry using SAP and WMS systems.
  • Support customer billing activities and documentation accuracy.
  • Maintain records, filing systems, office supplies, and administrative documentation.
  • Support operational reporting and customer performance metrics.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
