Position Summary The Inventory & Logistics Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records related to Electrolit's U.S. inventory, warehousing operations, and freight activity. The role supports Electrolit's growing distribution footprint by ensuring that all inventory movements, 3PL activity, and logistics costs are properly recorded and reconciled. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding Electrolit's significant inventory assets and monitoring warehousing and transportation costs by providing accurate reporting, identifying variances, and strengthening internal controls. Location: Houston TX (on-site)

Requirements

  • Knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting practices commonly used in the CPG/food and beverage sector.
  • Familiarity with high-volume inventory environments that rely on 3PLs, FEFO processes, and multi-warehouse distribution.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost and volume trends across warehousing and freight.
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies across multiple systems.
  • Proficiency with Excel and experience working with ERP or inventory management platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Operations teams.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to identify process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and strengthen internal controls.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for data accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of related accounting experience, consistent with intermediate level.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or logistics accounting highly preferred.
  • Experience in CPG, manufacturing, or food and beverage operations is a plus.
  • CPA eligibility preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with 3PLs, multi-warehouse environments, or high-volume inventory systems preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site at Electrolit's Houston office.
  • Willingness to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with warehouse and distribution partners.
  • Commitment to maintaining segregation of duties and strong internal controls.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to lift or move office materials up to 10 pounds.
  • Standard office environment with regular use of a computer, phone, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile detailed records of Electrolit inventory transactions, including purchases, warehouse transfers, adjustments, and usage across all U.S. locations and 3PL partners.
  • Coordinate and oversee full physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts across Electrolit's warehouses and partner facilities.
  • Review and reconcile supporting inventory count documentation to accounting records of Eelectrolit, ensuring strong segregation of duties and internal control compliance.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory held at all Electrolit third-party logistics (3PL) locations.
  • Manage and monitor FEFO-based inventory valuation, including shrinkage, expired product, damaged goods, and obsolescence tied to beverage shelf-life.
  • Track outbound freight expenses, reconcile freight accruals, and analyze variances between actual freight invoices and budgeted amounts.
  • Analyze and report on transportation and logistics cost trends and highlight anomalies that may impact Electrolit's distribution network.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts tied to inventory, logistics, transportation, and 3PL-handled goods to inventory records.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages on inventory levels, warehousing expenses, and outbound freight costs to support Finance, FP&A, and Operations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close for inventory, logistics, and freight accounts, preparing accurate journals and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP requirements, and internal control standards
  • Partner with IT and operations on system enhancements, integrations with 3PLs, and data-quality initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
