About The Position

In alignment with Microsoft values, this role contributes to establishing technical training delivery, workforce training needs analysis, and procedural change management activities in support of datacenters. The Inventory and Asset Technical Trainer will leverage technical and adult learning fundamentals to evaluate and report on training activities, and develop their own skills while coaching learners in their career growth. This is an on-site position in the datacenter with limited work from home opportunities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations management, or a related field.
  • OR equivalent experience in logistics operations and training delivery.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in logistics systems, including warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), inventory control, and operational workflows.
  • 2+ years of experience in delivering training programs, workforce development, or project management.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills for reporting training outcomes and operational feedback.
  • Expertise in operational planning and project execution with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Must have experience as a Logistics Technician or Circular Center Technician, with hands-on knowledge of shipping and receiving, asset management, purchase and transfer orders, warranty logs, and related inventory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver single to multi-day training programs (in-person or virtual) using various methods, including presentations, discussions, simulations, and hands-on activities.
  • Conduct training needs analysis to align workforce development with operational performance metrics.
  • Stay updated on new logistics technologies, systems, and processes, incorporating these into training programs to ensure operational excellence.
  • Implement technology-enhanced learning solutions to improve employee readiness and job performance in logistics operations.
  • Apply effective training techniques such as flexible learning, behavior reinforcement, and time management to ensure learner engagement and success.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging questions, hands-on participation, and ongoing development.
  • Gather and analyze training feedback to continuously improve training materials and ensure alignment with business needs.
