We’re looking for someone who sees inventory as a puzzle worth solving and enjoys digging into data to understand what’s really happening, why it’s happening, and what we should do next. As an Inventory Analyst, you’ll help shape how 5.11 uses Databricks and modern analytics to make smarter decisions across inventory, planning, and distribution operations. You’ll work with large datasets, a high volume of SKUs, and a constantly evolving business, turning complexity into clear insights and actionable recommendations. Your work will directly impact inventory productivity, profitability, sell-through performance, markdown efficiency, and distribution center execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Inventory, Supply Chain, Allocation, Planning, or S&OP
  • Strong understanding of inventory metrics such as sell-through, inventory turns, fill rate, allocation, and margin
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-SKU environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing SQL queries or working with modern analytics tools
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred
  • Experience in retail, apparel, footwear, or other SKU-intensive industries

Responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory performance across channels, product categories, and lifecycle stages to identify risks and opportunities
  • Monitor key metrics including sell-through, productivity, inventory aging, and service levels
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and recommend strategies to improve margin recovery
  • Support end-of-life planning and markdown strategies with data-driven insights
  • Use analytics platforms such as Databricks, SQL, and BI tools to develop reporting that supports inventory strategy
  • Build scalable dashboards and KPI reporting to provide clear visibility into inventory performance
  • Translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Improve reporting accuracy, automation, and usability over time
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support planning team decisions
  • Identify root causes behind forecast misses, inventory gaps, and excess inventory
  • Partner cross-functionally to align inventory strategies with broader business priorities
  • Develop reporting that helps optimize distribution center focus and operational priorities
  • Identify bottlenecks and inventory inefficiencies through data analysis
  • Support strategies that improve distribution center throughput and execution
