About The Position

Penske Automotive Group (PAG) is seeking an experienced Inventory Accounting Clerk to join their accounting department and support business operations. The role involves obtaining, entering, and maintaining data and accounting records in accordance with company policy and procedures. This position includes data entry and other clerical responsibilities, offering an opportunity for individuals with accounting data entry experience to expand their knowledge and advance their careers.

Requirements

  • At least one year of recent applicable experience in an inventory accounting clerk role.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills relevant to an inventory accounting clerk position.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform high volume data entry.
  • Excellent Computer Skills, must be able to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining, entering, and maintaining data and accounting records.
  • Performing duties in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Compiling and sorting documents to substantiate business transactions.
  • Preparing vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.
  • Understanding and complying with all regulations affecting the accounting department.
  • Performing tasks accurately and in accordance with local, state, and federal statutes, as well as company policies.
