About The Position

This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. This position cares for Structural heart (including Watchman), Lead extractions, ablations, Vascular and EP pacemaker / device patients. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care and patient education.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Michigan.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire or transfer.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 month of hire or transfer.
Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Knowledge of critical care nursing as normally acquired through 2 years’ experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Competency in Microsoft� Windows.

Nice To Haves

Electrophysiology skills as gained through a minimum of 1 year of experience working in an electrophysiology lab environment.

Responsibilities

Performs nursing care for the above outlined procedures, but not limited to:
Circulate and assists during cases, including sterically drop procedural supplies on tray, scrubbing in the case, running for supplies.
Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
Assists Radiologic Technologists circulate cases, sterically drop procedural supplies on tray.
Collaborates with physicians to provide a plan of care for each individualized patient.
Assists in other radiology/cardiology procedures as needed.
Performs clinical functions as needed.
Delegation and coordination of tasks and assignments of nursing care
Assumes the responsibility for processional growth by seeking out educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital.
Precepts / mentors new employees and students.
