About The Position

This position is in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Chilton Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health. The Invasive Cardiovascular Tech will prepare the procedure room and assist the physician during various cardiac catheterizations and interventions, including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and/or EP procedures. Responsibilities include patient preparation, monitoring hemodynamic status, data retrieval and entry, and equipment operation.

Requirements

Current RN or RCIS certification
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Experience in cardiac catheterization procedures
Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring
Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with EP procedures
Familiarity with electronic health record systems

Responsibilities

Prepares procedure room and scrubs/assist MD during cardiac catheterization and interventions including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and/or EP procedures
Prepares and drapes patients for the process, responds to their questions alleviating any concerns regarding the procedure, and ensures patient comfort.
Enters patient, procedure and equipment details in the system.
Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedure, including electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain.
Retrieves imaging and other pertinent data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results.
Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.
Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
