The Invasive Cardiovascular Services Coordinator assumes responsibility, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Cath Lab, for the coordination of all clerical and scheduling activities in the Cath Lab. Often the first contact of the Cath Lab and the Medical Center, represents both in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Requires high school or equivalent
  • Requires a minimum of one year of Cath Lab clerical experience with knowledge of processes, procedures and different modalities.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of college or specialized post-high school training in medical terminology and medical office procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, organizes and standardizes secretarial area to facilitate smooth workflow.
  • Coordinates Cath Lab patient services according to department procedures. Maintains continuing knowledge of all department procedures so that the scheduling and coordination of tests performed within the department and with other departments in the Medical Center are accomplished in an efficient manner
  • Assumes responsibility for Cath Lab office area of department to ensure patients and families are served in a welcoming and professional manner. Effectively exchanges information in a professional and courteous manner with supervisors, co-workers, physicians, patients and all hospital guests so as to ensure the highest quality of services provided.
  • Compiles daily departmental services information for accurate patient account charge entry, verification of procedures and efficient patient throughput.
  • Performs duties necessary to appropriately request and obtain required records to expedite patient care. Coordinates the completion of additional imaging testing as required by angiographer.
  • Maintains procedural logs and statistical data
  • Integrates self into department’s organizational structure and actively participates in department’s daily activities to ensure timely delivery of appropriate and high quality services.
  • Guest Relations: Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors and medical center personnel as defined in the philosophy of Vassar Brothers Medical Center
