About The Position

This course introduces the value orientations and ethics prevalent in the profession and in Canadian society and examines selected current practice issues, controversies or dilemmas of professional social work practice in Canada.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree.
  • Minimum one degree in Social Work or Social Work PhD in progress.
  • CV (required).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF) (required).

  • Evidence of Good Teaching (required for external applicants).
  • Verification of highest degree (required for external applicants).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Introduction to Social Work: Values, Ethics and Practice course.
  • Deliver lectures in a virtual synchronous format.
  • Manage a class size of 55-65 students.
  • Assess student applications primarily based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF).
  • Review CAF, Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in supplemental documents.
  • Adhere to the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement.
  • Potentially coordinate large classes or multi-section courses.
  • Perform marking and grading.
