About The Position

Support the school's behavior management system by processing office behavior referrals and guiding students through restorative "making it right" conversations. Accurately enter Tier 1 and Tier 2 referrals into the tracking spreadsheet. Provide students with scheduled breaks as needed, and conduct regular check-ins to support their social-emotional needs. Push into classrooms to reinforce positive work habits and behavior expectations. Respond promptly and calmly to crisis situations to ensure student and staff safety. Monitor and check in with students who have chronic absenteeism or tardiness, coordinating with the attendance team as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed
  • Basic knowledge of classroom management techniques
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of students and the classroom environment
  • Must pass background check

  • Work involves sitting and moving for extended periods of time, requires moving from one location to another, reaching, bending, stooping (moving to eye level of the student), hold and grasping objects
  • Verbal communication ability required

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in with students daily to build rapport and foster positive relationships
  • Provide one-on-one check-ins with students who need extra behavioral or emotional support
  • Ensure reward systems are implemented consistently in accordance with individual behavior plans
  • Document all Tier 1 and Tier 2 interactions in the tracking spreadsheet
  • Conduct initial investigations of behavior referrals
  • Gather statements from students and staff, and complete reflection forms as part of the referral process
  • Guide students through the restorative process, supporting them in making things right
  • Communicate outcomes to relevant teachers
  • Assist the Principal with Tier 3 behavior situations as needed
  • Report higher-level referrals to the Principal and school counselor
  • Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional behavioral intervention
  • Support the crisis team when a student is in crisis (training and guidance will be provided)
  • Attend meetings, as schedule allows, regarding patterns of repeated behavior and related interventions
  • Be present at recess when possible to lead structured activities and support students who need additional help navigating social situations
