About The Position

Perform effective teaching methods to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program which fosters achievement for all students. This position is responsible for implementing Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions, conducting Care and Concern meetings with students/parents/staff, working with students on credit recovery, and delivering targeted small-group instruction.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Student teaching/practicum/internship experience that meets or exceeds Colorado's requirements
Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic classroom management and planning skills
Basic organizational skills
Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards
Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs and curriculum
Ability and desire to work as a team member
Ability to actively participate in a Professional Learning Community
Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
Ability to serve as a role model and an innovative and creative learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge that stays on the cutting edge of instructional practice and pedagogy
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
Appropriate endorsements or equivalent in the content field

Formal education beyond a Bachelor’s degree
Three (3) years of successful teaching experience
Experience advising school clubs/co-curricular activities
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
