About The Position

This role is within the Invasive Cardiology department at St. Vincent Hospital. The Interventional Technologist will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical parameters for imaging, and administering contrast media and medications. The technologist will monitor patients during procedures, report any abnormal activity, and assist the Radiologist/PA with specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. Ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Previous procedural lab experience is a plus but not required.
Accepting new grads to this RT position.

Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.
Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
