About The Position

This position assists the radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures, including acting as a scrub tech when appropriate. The role adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. The technologist follows radiation safety protocols, is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedures, and understands complex procedures. They demonstrate the ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedures and set up sterile fields, possessing advanced knowledge of cross-sectional and vascular anatomy. The role requires effective communication and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc.) and documentation in the EMR.

Requirements

• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
• Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.

Nice To Haves

• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
