About The Position

The interventional radiography technologist performs radiographic, fluoroscopic and other procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They also assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures; as well as prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations and institutional policy.

Requirements

  • Current ARRT (R)
  • Current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic and other procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
  • Assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures.
  • Prepares, administers and documents activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations and institutional policy.
  • Prepares patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures.
  • Is responsible for preparing and ensuring that all x-ray images are of good quality and x-ray related equipment for procedures are maintained.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Effectively communicates with members of the care team to deliver high quality, patient centered care.
