About The Position
The interventional radiography technologist performs radiographic, fluoroscopic and other procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They also assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures; as well as prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations and institutional policy.
Requirements
- Current ARRT (R)
- Current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana
Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic and other procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
- Assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures.
- Prepares, administers and documents activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations and institutional policy.
- Prepares patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures.
- Is responsible for preparing and ensuring that all x-ray images are of good quality and x-ray related equipment for procedures are maintained.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Effectively communicates with members of the care team to deliver high quality, patient centered care.
