About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, demonstrating expertise in operating radiologic equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging standards while providing compassionate care to patients. The schedule is 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday coverage as required. On-call or callback duties are also expected, approximately 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends per month.

Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a radiologic technology role.
  • Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of New York.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in interventional radiology is preferred, though candidates from other modalities may be considered with appropriate training.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images.
  • Collaborate effectively with all department members to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit flexibility, teamwork, compassion, respect, and accountability in interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Administer oral contrast as required for exams.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
  • Operate all x-ray equipment, including CR and DR systems, with demonstrated competence and proficiency.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead as necessary.
  • Complete all assigned procedures promptly and assist others with clerical duties, stocking supplies, and patient transport during downtime.
  • Maintain medication security, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel only.
  • Deliver competent healthcare services to all age groups.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and colleagues of all ages.
  • Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
  • Engage in hospital performance improvement initiatives when necessary.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information by using own password and adhering to data management protocols.
  • Provide prompt, clear, and courteous responses to technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel.
