About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant (PA) to provide coverage through August 1st. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient care at a 471-bed facility, which is a Level II trauma center. The PA will manage an average of 25 patients per day, covering all age groups. The facility utilizes EPIC for its EMR system. Credentialing is expected to take 90 days.

Requirements

  • Active Virginia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Interventional Radiology experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Virginia OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Virginia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
