Requirements

  • Associate Degree Applied Science required OR Completion of accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology required Or High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology required.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • ACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days of hire required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of vascular or cardiac angiography preferred.
  • GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire preferred OR RCIS—Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist—Obtain within 6 months of hire if graduated from Cardiovascular Accredited Program
  • LMRT—Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist—If you have RCIS certification only

Responsibilities

  • Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam.
  • Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS.
